Eight Bay-Area Contributors to 99 Poems for the 99 Percent: An Anthology of Poetry will read their own work and work from the anthology on Saturday April 4 at 7:00 at the legendary Book Passage in Corte Madera, CA.

Since Walt Whitman, American poetry has been about democracy. It's been about reaching people on issues they care about in a voice they recognize.

The original project posted 99 original poems over 99 days by major American poets, mid-career writers, students, and ordinary Americans. It attempted to provide a plurality of voices, approaches, and visions.

Please feel free to peruse the site. We have left a few sample poems up on the blog to give you an idea of what kinds of pieces are contained in the book and to show some examples of how the poets have written about their poems.
